Rosa and Dan in Baja 1979

With this photo, my mom reminisces: We spent Rosa's first winter in Baja, camping in out VW bus. Then again when Dan was a baby, but in a bigger rig, the easter egg trailer borrowed from Joanne and Rod. Super fun to be housework-free and get to see more than our babies' hands and feet all winter.

What did your parent(s) do for a living, that these wondrous winters were possible?

My mom is an artist (jeweler) and my dad is a mountain guide.

I want to know how they kept you two from eating ALL THE SAND EVER. I've not taken Mr. D. to the beach given his oral fixation that's only recently lightened up.
Also- I wish I could time travel to there and hang out with all you guys. A great picture.

I suspect we ate more than our share of sand!

Things I love about this picture include my incredibly cute baby brother and how very brown we both are.

Baby Rosa! I love how much you look like you, even though it's a baby picture and we only see your cheek and hair.

my favorite thing about this picture, as with ALL early pix you post, are your curls.
And yes, Yay for sun-kissed babes with smoochable cheeks!

What a wonderful way to spend a winter or two. Do you remember it at all?

I'm noticing the nom-able legs myself.
