The scene: I'm making myself an iced mocha in the kitchen. miss_chance is in the living room.

miss_chance: If you're making coffee, you're the best roommate ever!
me: It's decaf.
mc: Let us not speak of this again.

(It's okay, though, for me to post this, because I'm moving faster than she is. Plus, I did make her a cup of the real stuff soon after.)

eating with my fingers

I love Love LOVE eating with my hands rather than utensils, and I do it as often as I can get away with it without creating a big mess, whether with the food or with the company. Summer and summer foods especially lend themselves to this. It's hard to eat even a very hearty winter stew with my hands, but salad? You bet! So there's nothing like sitting in the dappled shade eating arugula picked up from our friendly neighborhood CSA last night. It's like heaven.
