I haven't tried it in maybe 15 years but as I recall it wasn't very good. Then again it was made by manischewitz so what do you expect?

I haven't done this but i bet canned beets thru the blender would be pretty good, given enough sour cream.

It's good for cold borcht, but not good for hot borcht.

(they're different beasts. for cold, add chopped hardboiled egg, cucumber and chives to refrigerator-cold borcht, mix in some sour cream and enjoy)
