By the middle of the afternoon, I'm usually having a post-lunch blood sugar drop, which means either sugar or caffeine (or both!) often features in my snack choice: coffee or chai with chocolate is often excellent. Popcorn or crackers -- mmm, carbs -- are also good. Rarely do I want, you know, vegetables or protein.

On a warm, lazy afternoon? French bread, olives, and hardboiled eggs, I think. (My nutritionist would object.)
On a cold, lazy afternoon? Cinnamon toast and hot tea.
When I'm busy, a granola bar or equivalent.

If I'm feeling decadent, crackers and a nice sharp cheese with a glass of white wine.
