A good peach is a much harder find than a good nectarine because their soft fruit means they must be shipped unripe, and this means they often rot before truly ripening. So while I will by a nectarine at the store, I will always choose a peach at a U-Pick farm. Eating a peach is in fact my earliest memory, with vague sense dreams of the juice dripping down to my elbows. A good peach is bliss!
