I'm messing with your stats though, because I'm in favor of flavor and against the coffee part. :-)

Really more like: "Sometimes, some flavors are really awesome! But mostly I avoid them."

As Sid from User Friendly so wisely put it, "Coffee already has a flavor. It's called coffee!!"

There are a few seasonings which go pretty well with my coffee: chocolate, cardamom, cinnamon. I once had a marvelous coffee at Frontera Grill that was brewed with cinnamon and orange and lemon peel, and served with brown sugar.

I'm not morally opposed to the stuff, but I think the main problem I have with most "hazelnut coffees" and the like is that they tend to be made with really lousy coffee beans.

Then there are the flavors that are just OMGWTF. I am finishing up some lavender coffee that [livejournal.com profile] coastergalwdw brought me back from Seattle. Neat idea, but --- wow. Weird.

I have developed a real taste for coconut in iced coffee. I blame Dunkin donuts.

ALTHOUGH

Sometimes I add spices (cardamon or cinnamon) to the coffee grounds before I brew the coffee. Oh and I sometimes add molasses as sweetener

I don't drink coffee... except those whipped-creamed, flavoured coffee-frappes that one can get in the hot half of the year in New England.

I am not counting chicory as a flavor here; that's a different animal entirely.

When I drank sweet coffee, flavored coffee was ok. But since switching to black or just a little creme, I find the flavored coffee is either very bitter.

I say no to flavored coffee, including coffee flavor.

When I need coffee (aka life elixir) it cannot be flavored. In this scenario, that flavored stuff isn't coffee. It's something else.

That something else has it's place in the world, too! For example, hazlenut coffee with booze in it. A dessert drink that fucks you up!

But for morning or afternoon coffee? Coffee flavored coffee, please. :)

I went to a different coffee shop than normal today just to get access to "Pumpkin Spice" coffee, which I'd been craving.

I love cinnamon and vanilla in hot chocolate! :)

... of course, my "OMG, no!" to flavored coffee is just on instance of my "OMG, no!" to coffee in general. I much prefer tea.

As for flavored tea, I'm all for it. My favorite tea at the moment is lemon with honey.

I usually tend to go for Central American & South American coffee varieties roasted light-medium, which have smooth chocolate flavor notes built into the bean.. but I do occasionally play with spiced coffee (various assortments of vanilla bean, fresh ginger, hot pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, & star anise). Sometimes I add a bit of good quality chocolate, maple syrup, molasses, almond or peppermint extract, or a twist of lemon. The flavors chosen depend upon the variety of bean, roast, and temperature served. Lately, I like it brewed strong & served straight-up.
