I have the kind of cold that makes me sleepy and dopey and not-wanty to do anything. But when I lie down, it's the kind of cold that makes me all stuffy and unable to sleep.

Eww, sorry to hear that. It sounds like you need something that's halfway between unconsciousness and normal brain activity. My personal favorite is TV. ;)
