Today is aroraborealis's birthday.

In honor of such, I'd like to suggest that each of you who know her well do something for yourself today that would make her laugh, smile, be proud of you, or just be happy for you. Think about telling her, and her tossing back her head and laughing and saying "That's Wonderful!"

She's right. That's a kickass thing for you to do to help me celebrate my bday. So do it, and then tell me about it, send a photo of you doing it, a video, a soundtrack, or whatever, either here, or the next time I see you in person.

I did some very fun things last night that would totally make you proud of me. And they did, in fact, have a very specific soundtrack. Which I am currently burning to disk for you.

And today, I'm kidnapping srl off to goddessfarmer's for nearly 3 days of housesitting and good times.

I just got back from kayaking up and down the Mystic River with entrochan with a stop for a swim in the Lower Mystic Lake.
It was a great thing to do on a Sunday afternoon, and made me very happy.

Today, we took the kids over to granny and grandpa's, for swimming, dinner and Fluxx (http://www.wunderland.com/LooneyLabs/Fluxx/), where:

* Quinn learned that it's okay to jump into the deep end as long as you ask a grownup first;

* Morgan and Quinn learned why you knead bread dough, and what happens when you let it rise; and

* Morgan learned that it's okay when the rules of the game change.

I am pleased with all of these events and thought that you would be happy with them all too.

it's not quite right yet, but today l and i set about to fix my hair color problem. pictures likely to appear later this week.

also i had lovely lunch with one wonderful woman (and l and pip) and lovely dinner with another wonderful woman (and pip), and now i'm well fed and content and listening to good music while the boy snoozes.

I think it is a wonderful reflection of who you are that someone would suggest that your birthday should be celebrated by your friends telling you things about themselves that would make you laugh (etc.). I'm honored to have met you, and to be getting to know you.

As for me, I spent about 10 awake hours gloriously alone this weekend, which I really needed. I read the entirety of Harry Potter and that inof itself is beyond a luxury to me. I needed that time and space. It brought me peace.

Also I nearly perfected a recipe for cheese-stuffed, grilled jalapenos, which I should make for you at some point.
