In keeping with the somewhat undistinguished ingredients (and that I'm usually just pulling them out of the little rolls directly from the candy bowl) my technique is just to press the candy down into the salt so it comes up with the chocolate. The little raised lips around the tops seem tailor-made for holding salt or spices though, don't they?
