What is your favorite non-chocolate candy?

Blue-cheese and honey.

:)

That is awesome, but I don't think it's a candy :)

Do sugar cubes count as candy?

[identity profile] aroraborealis.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
If you eat them like you would candy, sure!

Then my reply is: SUGAR CUBES!!!!

[identity profile] infinitehotel.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Caramel, in almost any format, especially if salted.

(I'm amazed at how long it took me to realize a plate of sea salt would do amazing things for Halloween-candy Rolos. :)

intriguing! what's the technique: do you sprinkle it on top? bite into the rollo and pick up some salt with the caramel?

[identity profile] infinitehotel.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
In keeping with the somewhat undistinguished ingredients (and that I'm usually just pulling them out of the little rolls directly from the candy bowl) my technique is just to press the candy down into the salt so it comes up with the chocolate. The little raised lips around the tops seem tailor-made for holding salt or spices though, don't they?

Marzipan

[identity profile] anotherjen.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I love Starburst, even though if I eat too many (like a whole bar) they make me feel sick.

[identity profile] anotherjen.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh - I forgot to mention, pure maple sugar candy. MMM!

[identity profile] jd-trouble.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
This time of year, candy corn, until I get sick of it and don't want to see it until next halloween.

I'd have say, Gummi Bears, in large 5 lb costco sized bags.

Salted nut bars, and/or marzipan.

(Though, chocolate covered marzipan is breathtakingly awesome.)

Caramel, although I have an occasional weakness for fruity things like skittles, smarties, and those freaky gummy sugary fruit slices.

[identity profile] aroraborealis.livejournal.com 2009-11-04 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I am overdosing on smarties as we speak.

[personal profile] lcohen 2009-11-05 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
how can you have a peanut butter cup without any chocolate?

i like sweet tarts and maple candy and those terrible fake spearmint leaves and orange slices that are probably dreadful for me but who cares, and butterscotch and mint and .....

[identity profile] qwrrty.livejournal.com 2009-11-05 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The chocolate part of the peanut butter cup is completely incidental to what is so wonderful about that candy.

Carambars! Which are also my favorite candy, period. I'll try to remember to bring you a couple on Saturday.
