Dear America

I feel ridiculously full of cheeseball hope and optimism today. Not, really, because I think Obama's going to save the world -- I know no electable politician will ever align all that closely with all of my most radical political wishes -- but because he already has, and my fellow Americans already have, insofar as I never in my wildest dreams believed that he could get elected, and that we would, collectively, get our heads out of our asses long enough to vote for him.

You know what this means? I have to dream wilder dreams. And that's fucking awesome.
