On Thanksgiving day proper, I give thanks for the many fantastic people in my life. This means you.
There are, by one way of counting, two sets of people in my life: the people I have gathered and who have gathered me into each other's orbits over time -- my chosen friends and family -- and the family I got handed from birth. I've profoundly lucked out in both. I feel like I don't even have the context to fully comprehend how lucky I am in both of these; I'm constantly impressed, amazed, inspired, challenged, comforted, grounded, gifted, and blessed by the words, deeds, and very presence of the people around me.
Thank you for being you.
