Some phrases just work for me, in a way that I can't fully explain. Most recently, I noticed this about the phrase "ice cold" as applied to beverages. We were walking by a bar advertising ice cold Miller on their sidewalk sign, and though I don't particularly care for Miller, I found myself almost mystically drawn toward the bar.

Ice cold milk, ice cold soda, ice cold beer, ice cold gin ...

What is it about that descriptor that makes it so nummy?

What are other phrases that are similarly magical?
aroraborealis: (blech!)
Good: Beef beet mushroom soup.

Bad: Beef beet mushroom iPhone soup.
