late fall love

I love this time of year, once all the leaves have come off the trees and the skies are clear. Once the leaves are down, you can see farther, and more light filters through the branches. The past few days, we've had some big wind, cleaning out the last of the summer and early fall air, and now it's cold, and there's a dusting of snow on the back porch.

This is a time for settling in, for nesting, and for making internal heat to make up for the external cold. I love it.

I feel the same way. I love the way the sky darkens this time of year and becomes almost cobalt blue.
