The odds that any of you will be attending the AAAS Annual Meeting in Boston in February are pretty slim, but if you are and you don't have plans for Saturday afternoon's sessions, you could drop in on the one where I'll be presenting:

Blogs, Boards, and Bonding: Using Electronic Communities To Support Women in Science
Saturday, Feb 16, 2008, 1:45 PM - 3:15 PM
Hynes Convention Center, Third Level, room 312

The first half of the program title suggested to me that the second half would be something about supporting women in kink. It renamed itself in my head: Using Electronic Communities To Support Women in Trusses.

Is this something I can sneak into, or would I have to pay for a pass?

You will almost certainly need a badge. Mind you, depending on the session, guards are often very lax.

If it is like most scientific conferences, you aren't supposed to get into a session without a badge. However, it may be possible to sneak in if the guard isn't paying attention using the "If you look like you know you are supposed to be there, most people won't check your credentials" theory.

Listen to me talk! Heckle me with questions!

Jealous. I used to work for AAAS and always loved those meetings. (Well, okay, I worked for them as an intern for six months, but still.) Anyway, enjoy!

You know, I think my dad is getting an award from them at this meeting.

I might be able to get to this. (Which would be great, I would love to see you present.)
