Those photos are really something. Evocative of an era, as much as a family; I love the clothing of the people behind the babyyou smeared with wedding cake. And, oh the genetic similarities in the faces -- something I'm sure you understand I notice quite a bit. And the blue-black hair of you and your cousin (?) in the canyon cliffs photo was astonishingly rich (weren't dying your hair yet, eh?). And the nature in the background of the photos, I kept expecting Judy Collins or John Denver to start singing. Really, it was surprising how evocative these photos were for me (and I would think somewhat effective universally, as in, I thought more than once I would use the photos to evoke that era and place in a movie). I expect what you see is very different!
Yes, I agree about the era! But, yes, also, it's hard for me to separate that from just the feeling of my childhood, so I feel like, well, of courseI think it evokes a strong feeling of that time :)
The other kid in the canyon photo isn't a relative, but a close friend throughout my childhood.
