Today, I feel so privileged to live in a time and place when I can make largely free decisions about my life. I can own property, walk around my neighborhood alone at all times of day or night, choose work that is satisfying to me, choose a home where I feel comfortable and welcome, choose romantic partners and friends for myself. I can move through the world without someone questioning my right to be there the vast majority of the time. I can generally travel without fear of being singled out as a likely "bad seed". I have easy access to social resources that make my life easier and more fun. I can turn down offers of work that make me unhappy or discontent. I can easily enter any public building and traverse public infrastructure. I have plentiful potable water at my fingertips, and enough food to eat on a daily basis.

These are all things I want everyone to have, and I'm so thankful to have them myself.
