As you've been hearing, I love my job! And we're hiring a LOT of people, so if you're looking for a job, check out our jobs page at http://careers.athenahealth.com/ext/search.asp -- you can put my name into the form and also send me an email so I can put in a good word for you with HR.

If you're techy, http://www.athenahealth.com/techjobs highlights the tech positions we're hiring for. We're going to be hiring something like 50 developers in the next year, at all levels, so ... we want you! Same deal: put my name in the form and email me so I can get in touch with HR to put in an extra good word for you.

And, more specifically, right now, our Core Analytics team is looking for a manager who's quantitative-oriented and loves digging into data ... which sounds like someone I might know, so if you do, you can send me your resume directly.

It says "tech jobs" so I thought it'd be a variety of tech jobs, but it looks like the only jobs it's talking about are for software developers. Is that the only kind of tech job y'all are hiring for? Or are there other tech jobs that page just doesn't mention? In particular I wonder about IT or sysadmin sort of jobs (not for me).

Those get highlighted because we're hiring so many. We also have a couple of information systems positions open at the moment, but on the regular careers page.

Will do. I'm waiting until I am actually in town, but they do send me their openings. I need to improve on the terrible cover letter I used last time.

It is! There are a number of buses that go by, and also a shuttle that runs from in front of the Charles Hotel to the office every 20 minutes. That's how I get here!

That's because they suck there. And not in the life-affirming way.

I would love to have you here!!

Oh, there's a shuttle? How long does it take, and does it take bikes?

It takes about 20 minutes, and AFAIK, it doesn't take bikes. I know several people who bike to Harvard and then lock their bikes at a rack there.

We do have a bunch of bike parking in the building here (though it's a little oversubscribed ...)

Forwarding post to [livejournal.com profile] dimers. But let him know if you have anything in particular that might suit a librarian?

I don't know the listings particularly well, but if I see anything that leaps out at me, I will pass it along!

So, it looks like I'm actually uber-qualified for the WINDOWS OPERATIONS MANAGER position (and it's kind of a good 'next-step' for me in career growth.) Do you know if they're entertaining relocation offers and/or offering packages of any sort?

Wow, good question! I think we probably don't fund relocation expenses most of the time, but it would probably depend on whether they're having a hard time finding the right candidate for the position, and I have no idea about that one. I'd say apply and ask the question in the phone screen, I think.

Thanks for the pointer! I'm still stumped by the puzzle but I'm working on it...

I've been picking at the puzzles for a while, but haven't gotten anywhere. I haven't had time to really concentrate on them yet; do you think I should go ahead and apply now anyway, or would it be better to have solved one (or all) before applying for a programmer job?
